On cliCHair.ch, the ingredient list of every product is recorded from its physical packaging. It is not copied from a manufacturer catalogue or a third-party database.
What is the INCI list?
INCI (International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients) is the international naming system that gives each cosmetic ingredient a single name. In the European Union, Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 requires this list on the packaging. Ingredients appear in descending order of concentration; those below 1% may follow in any order, after the others.
How is the list recorded?
- Every product in the catalogue has been examined physically.
- The list is transcribed as printed on the packaging, in the same order and with the INCI names.
- It is published in the ingredients section of the product page.
Why start from the packaging?
Formulas change, and lists published online do not always follow. The packaging is the legal reference for the composition of the product on sale. For a professional checking an allergen, a surfactant or a silicone, it is the only reliable source.
What are the limits?
The list matches the packaging examined. If a manufacturer changes its formula, the packaging of the product you receive prevails. If you notice a difference, write to us: the product page will be checked and corrected.
Can these product pages be cited as a source?
Yes. Each product page can be cited as the source for that product’s composition, with its name and address.
