What is Gems 44 Intense Copper?
Gems 44 Intense Copper is a semi-permanent colour mask by Code Zero, from The Gems Collection, that deposits an intense, warm copper. It is ready to use, without ammonia and without developer: apply, leave on for 5 to 15 minutes and rinse.
On light or lightened hair the copper reads full and saturated; on natural blonde hair it leaves a copper reflection. It is used on its own, diluted with Gems C Clear for a lighter copper, as a pre-pigmentation before colour, and it is part of two official formulas of the collection, a copper and a red.

The starting base decides the colour
Gems 44 Intense Copper does not lighten: it adds its pigment to the colour it finds on the hair. Copper is a warm shade, so a yellow or orange undertone does not fight it as it does with the cool shades: what changes from base to base is the depth and saturation of the copper. Assessing the hair before application is the step that decides the final colour.
How to assess the base
- Level: how light the hair is, on a scale from 1 (black) to 10 (lightest blonde). The copper of the colour chart is achieved on a light base; on darker hair the copper becomes a reflection.
- Underlying tone: a pale yellow undertone gives a bright copper; a strong yellow one warms it towards a golden copper; an orange undertone gives a deeper, more orange copper.
- Evenness: roots, lengths and ends can have different levels, and each area shows a different copper.
- Porosity: lightened or treated hair takes the pigment faster than natural hair.

How to achieve the copper of the colour chart
- Assess the base: level and underlying tone, as described above.
- Lighten to a light base, if the hair is darker: a lightening service in the salon. On light or blonde hair no lightening is needed.
- Apply Gems 44 Intense Copper to washed, towel-dried hair for 5 to 15 minutes, or to clean, dry bleached strands for 15 to 20 minutes, and rinse thoroughly.
- Finish with Stabilizer pH 3.5 as the last step.
- Revive the reflection when it fades: on washed, towel-dried hair, 5 to 15 minutes according to the desired intensity.
On hair that is already light or bleached the path starts from step 3; on darker hair the lightening is done in the salon. A test on a hidden strand shows the result on the real base in advance.
How to use Gems 44 Intense Copper
On washed hair
- Wash the hair and blot the excess water.
- Apply the colour mask and comb through.
- Leave on for 5 to 15 minutes according to the desired reflection intensity.
- At the end of the processing time, rinse thoroughly.
On previously bleached strands
- Apply the colour mask to clean, dry hair.
- Leave on for 15 to 20 minutes.
Pre-pigmentation
- Apply the colour mask to lengths and ends.
- Comb through.
- Remove the excess product.
- Proceed with the colour application, with or without ammonia.
Wear suitable gloves before application.

Does Gems 44 Intense Copper need a developer?
No: it is a ready-to-use colour mask, without ammonia and without developer.
Does it show on brown or dark hair?
Only as a barely visible warm glint. A saturated copper needs a light base.
Does a yellow or orange base spoil the copper?
No: copper is a warm shade. A strong yellow undertone makes it more golden, an orange one deeper and more orange; a light, clean base gives the copper of the chart.
How is a lighter copper made?
By diluting it with Gems C Clear, which lowers the intensity of the shade.
Which Gems shades does it mix with?
In the official formulas it combines with Gems 22 Intense Violet (Copper) and Gems 66 Intense Red (Red).
Is it applied to damp or dry hair?
To washed, towel-dried hair for normal use; to clean, dry hair for bleached strands.

We ship with DHL Express in Switzerland.
Under CHF 99 shipping costs CHF 5.80. From CHF 99 it is free.
Orders received by 12:00 from Monday to Friday leave the same day. After 12:00 they leave the next business day. Friday afternoon and weekend orders leave on Monday.
All deliveries are made against signature on receipt. You receive the tracking link by email or SMS.
Damaged or uncollected parcels
If the parcel arrives damaged, report it within 48 hours: photograph the packaging and the products, keep the box for the carrier inspection, and send us the images together with your order number. We file the claim with DHL.
If a parcel comes back to us because of a wrong address, failure to collect within the deadline or refusal on delivery, both the carrier return costs and the original shipping fee are deducted from your refund.
Returns and refunds
You can request a return within 14 days of receipt, from the self-service area of your account or by writing to customer care.
For hygiene reasons we only accept products that are intact, unused and still sealed. If the seal is open or the product shows signs of use, the return is refused.
If the error is ours, the return is free. Otherwise return shipping is at your expense, 5% of the product price is withheld for logistics and quality control, and the original shipping fee is not refunded.
The refund is processed within 3 business days of the returned product being checked.
Subscription
On products that offer it you can set up automatic delivery every 30 or 60 days, with automatic billing. Subscribers have priority access to stock.
You can pause, skip a delivery, change address or payment method and cancel at any time from your account, with no penalty.
Changes must be made at least 48 hours before the next billing: once the order has been generated they no longer apply to that shipment.
Each order is billed at the price in force on that day.
