Gems 18 Iron is a semi-permanent toning mask from the CODE ZERO Gems Collection. Its ammonia-free, ready-to-use formula deposits direct pigments for a dark, metallic grey with cool depth. It colours without lightening, no oxidiser is required, and the shade fades gradually after a few washes, letting you experiment without long-term commitment.

On pre-lightened hair the iron grey reads clearly and evenly; on natural or dark hair the product deposits a cool reflection only, because it does not lift the base. A dark, cool iron grey with metallic depth, even coverage without unwanted undertones and a sophisticated, modern shine. The intensity always depends on the starting base.

How to use

  1. Wash with a gentle shampoo and towel-dry to remove excess water. Do not apply conditioner or masks beforehand, so the pigment adheres perfectly.
  2. On natural, untreated hair, apply the mask evenly throughout, leaving on 5 to 15 minutes for a cool reflection over the existing base.
  3. On pre-lightened or highlighted hair, leave on 15-20 minutes for a deeper, longer-lasting iron grey. If the base still shows residual yellow, neutralise it before toning.
  4. Distribute with a comb for a uniform result without pigment buildup.
  5. Add a little lukewarm water and gently massage to emulsify, then rinse thoroughly until the water runs clear, avoiding shampoo to preserve the deposited pigments.

  • Stabilizer pH 3.5: apply after treatment to seal the cuticle, lock in pigments and preserve colour depth.

FAQ

Do I need an oxidiser? No. It is ready to use and works without ammonia or developer.

Will it turn my dark hair grey? No. Direct pigments deposit colour but do not lighten, so on a dark base you get a cool metallic reflection, not a visible iron grey. A pre-lightened base is required for the full shade.

What happens if my base is still yellow? The blue component deposited over residual yellow warmth can read as green. Neutralise the base before toning, and run a strand test first.

How do I get softer, pastel reflections? Mix Gems 18 Iron with Gems C Clear on a pre-lightened base.

Shipping costs and delivery times

We ship with DHL Express in Switzerland.

Under CHF 150 shipping costs CHF 5.80. Over CHF 150 it is free.

Orders received by 12:00 from Monday to Friday leave the same day. After 12:00 they leave the next business day. Friday afternoon and weekend orders leave on Monday.

All deliveries are made against signature on receipt. You receive the tracking link by email or SMS.
Damaged or uncollected parcels

If the parcel arrives damaged, report it within 48 hours: photograph the packaging and the products, keep the box for the carrier inspection, and send us the images together with your order number. We file the claim with DHL.

If a parcel comes back to us because of a wrong address, failure to collect within the deadline or refusal on delivery, both the carrier return costs and the original shipping fee are deducted from your refund.
Returns and refunds

You can request a return within 14 days of receipt, from the self-service area of your account or by writing to customer care.

For hygiene reasons we only accept products that are intact, unused and still sealed. If the seal is open or the product shows signs of use, the return is refused.

If the error is ours, the return is free. Otherwise return shipping is at your expense, 5% of the product price is withheld for logistics and quality control, and the original shipping fee is not refunded.

The refund is processed within 3 business days of the returned product being checked.

You can pause, skip a delivery, change address or payment method and cancel at any time from your account, with no penalty.
