What is Gems 11 Pearl Grey?
Gems 11 Pearl Grey is a semi-permanent colour mask by Code Zero, from The Gems Collection, that deposits a light, cool pearl grey with a satin reflection. It is ready to use, without ammonia and without developer: apply, leave on for 5 to 15 minutes and rinse.
On very light, evenly lightened hair the pearl grey reads luminous and clean; on natural blonde hair it leaves a cool, pearly reflection. It is used on its own, diluted with Gems C Clear for an even softer grey, as a pre-pigmentation before colour, and it is the base of four official formulas of the collection.

The starting base decides the colour
Gems 11 Pearl Grey does not lighten: it adds its pigment to the colour it finds on the hair. A light grey shows only on a light base, so assessing the hair before application is the step that decides the final colour.
How to assess the base
- Level: how light the hair is, on a scale from 1 (black) to 10 (lightest blonde). The pearl grey of the colour chart is achieved on the lightest base.
- Underlying tone: after lightening a yellow or orange undertone often remains. The blue pigment of the shade, over a yellow undertone, tends to turn green.
- Evenness: roots, lengths and ends can have different levels, and each area shows a different grey.
- Porosity: lightened or treated hair takes the pigment faster than natural hair.

How to achieve the pearl grey of the colour chart
- Assess the base: level and underlying tone, as described above.
- Lighten to the lightest base with a very pale yellow undertone, if the hair is darker: a bleaching service in the salon.
- Remove the residual yellow with an anti-yellow product, for example No Glow Yellow Shampoo and No Glow Yellow Mask, so the grey stays cool and does not turn green.
- Apply Gems 11 Pearl Grey to clean, dry hair, leave on for 15 to 20 minutes and rinse thoroughly.
- Finish with Stabilizer pH 3.5 as the last step.
- Revive the reflection when it fades: on washed, towel-dried hair, 5 to 15 minutes according to the desired intensity.
On hair that is already very light or bleached the path starts from step 3; on darker hair the lightening is done in the salon. A test on a hidden strand shows the result on the real base in advance.
How to use Gems 11 Pearl Grey
On washed hair
- Wash the hair and blot the excess water.
- Apply the colour mask and comb through.
- Leave on for 5 to 15 minutes according to the desired reflection intensity.
- At the end of the processing time, rinse thoroughly.
On previously bleached strands
- Apply the colour mask to clean, dry hair.
- Leave on for 15 to 20 minutes.
Pre-pigmentation
- Apply the colour mask to lengths and ends.
- Comb through.
- Remove the excess product.
- Proceed with the colour application, with or without ammonia.
Wear suitable gloves before application.

Does Gems 11 Pearl Grey need a developer?
No: it is a ready-to-use colour mask, without ammonia and without developer.
Does it show on brown or dark hair?
Only as a barely visible reflection. A light grey needs the lightest base.
Why can the grey turn green?
The blue pigment of the shade adds to the yellow undertone of the hair. Removing the yellow before application keeps the grey cool and clean.
Is it applied to damp or dry hair?
To washed, towel-dried hair for normal use; to clean, dry hair for bleached strands.
Which Gems shades does it mix with?
In the official formulas it combines with Gems 7 Moka (Brown), Gems 3 Very Light Golden Blonde (Ash / Gold), Gems 62 Fuchsia (Fuchsia) and Gems 02 Lavender (Purple).
Can it be used before a permanent colour?
Yes, as a pre-pigmentation: apply to lengths and ends, comb through, remove the excess and proceed with the colour, with or without ammonia.

We ship with DHL Express in Switzerland.
Under CHF 99 shipping costs CHF 5.80. From CHF 99 it is free.
Orders received by 12:00 from Monday to Friday leave the same day. After 12:00 they leave the next business day. Friday afternoon and weekend orders leave on Monday.
All deliveries are made against signature on receipt. You receive the tracking link by email or SMS.
Damaged or uncollected parcels
If the parcel arrives damaged, report it within 48 hours: photograph the packaging and the products, keep the box for the carrier inspection, and send us the images together with your order number. We file the claim with DHL.
If a parcel comes back to us because of a wrong address, failure to collect within the deadline or refusal on delivery, both the carrier return costs and the original shipping fee are deducted from your refund.
Returns and refunds
You can request a return within 14 days of receipt, from the self-service area of your account or by writing to customer care.
For hygiene reasons we only accept products that are intact, unused and still sealed. If the seal is open or the product shows signs of use, the return is refused.
If the error is ours, the return is free. Otherwise return shipping is at your expense, 5% of the product price is withheld for logistics and quality control, and the original shipping fee is not refunded.
The refund is processed within 3 business days of the returned product being checked.
Subscription
On products that offer it you can set up automatic delivery every 30 or 60 days, with automatic billing. Subscribers have priority access to stock.
You can pause, skip a delivery, change address or payment method and cancel at any time from your account, with no penalty.
Changes must be made at least 48 hours before the next billing: once the order has been generated they no longer apply to that shipment.
